2020-2021 NFL Power Rankings: Week 1

2020-2021 NFL Power Rankings: Week 1

I hesitated to do a power rankings article before week one because I thought it would be unfair to rank these teams without seeing them in any type of full-speed game action. With that being said, this is how the teams rank after one week of football.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs

The defending champs have a legit running game this year. Edwards-Helaire started his career in rarefied air with 25 carries, 138 yards, and 1 touchdown.

  2. Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson is better than a year ago. The ball flies out of his hand with more zip than it ever has, defenses beware.

  3. New Orleans Saints

Dominant win from the Saints. The defense made Tom Brady look pedestrian forcing 2 uncharacteristic interceptions.

  4. Green Bay Packers

Davante Adams was 1 reception short of Don Hutson’s franchise record. Aaron Rodgers is throwing with rhythm and balance within the offense and he looks 10 years younger.

  5. Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson completed 89% of his passes with 4 touchdowns against Atlanta. Wilson hasn’t received an MVP vote in his career and I have a feeling that ends this year.

  6. Buffalo Bills

The Bills thoroughly dominated on Sunday and Josh Allen had one of the best games of his career. I would like to see the Bills establish the run more instead of making Allen throw 30+ times.

  7. San Francisco 49ers

A really strange game for the 49ers and Jimmy Garoppolo. The 49ers defense really struggles against mobile quarterbacks like Kyler Murray, and Jimmy had some accuracy issues downfield.

  8. New England Patriots

Cam Newton performed very well in his Patriots debut. This offense is going to be difficult to defend this year if Cam is accurate in the passing game.

  9. Los Angeles Rams

This team reminds me of the Rams in 2017 when McVay first took over. They did a great job executing the offense and the defense played scrappily.

  10. Tennessee Titans

The Titans are going to give a lot of teams problems this year. They embrace their identity as a tough running and defensive driven football team.

  11. Pittsburgh Steelers

  12. Arizona Cardinals

  13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  14. Houston Texans

  15. Dallas Cowboys

  16. Minnesota Vikings

  17. Las Vegas Raiders

  18. Los Angeles Chargers

  19. Chicago Bears

  20. Denver Broncos

  21. Atlanta Falcons

  22. Jacksonville Jaguars

  23. Washington Football Team

  24. Detriot Lions

  25. Philadelphia Eagles

  26. Indianapolis Colts

  27. Carolina Panthers

  28. Miami Dolphins

  29. Cincinnati Bengals

  30. Cleveland Browns

  31. New York Giants

  32. New York Jets
